Another UnFinished Object is complete

I've had this little quilt floating around unfinished for at least 2 years. It was part of a challenge I was doing with my friends Sue and Janelle in Tennant Creek.

It really only needed it's binding put on. But I thought I'd turn it into something a little more useful and made it into a lined, zippered pouch.

I accidentally finished a UFO....

My wonderful husband works from home and he lets me sleep in most mornings. He gets the kids ready for school, while I lounge in bed feeding Michael. When I finally get out of bed he brings me a cup of tea in the lounge room and places it next to my computer. I get to sip my tea, check my mail and read all the blogs that have come up in Google Reader overnight. Yeah..I know I'm totally spoilt. And no Sue you can't have him he's mine :P

On one of those blogs, 'Five Minutes of Fame' Jane had a link to a great stash busting quilt, really quick, easy and will eat up 9 fat quarters! Today's project I thought.

Off I headed into the shed. I had 3 floral FQ's my children had given me for Mother's Day and I was looking for 6 more to add. While scrummaging through the baskets of fabric I unearthed a long forgotten top. I think it was made between baby 3 and 4....

The little voice in my head started to nag again.. "Why are you starting a new project while you have ( insert ridiculously high number) UnFinished Objects?" I started to get the guilts. So I abandoned my attempt at the Stash Buster Quilt and finish a UFO instead.

And here it is.

Not a traditional quilt. It only has 2 layers. I had bought the polar fleece two days ago to make a Sweetbaby Soaker for Mandy's Little girl. The colour was perfect for 'Barney'. I added a border of polar fleece to the UFO top and also backed the blanket with the same fleece. I quilted in the ditch, don't look to close because I did miss the ditch a couple of times.

The result is so soft and snuggly. I've got Michael wrapped in it as I write this one handed, nursing him.

We had some rain last week and my Roses are back into bloom.

Roses are so hardy. Perfect for our dry harsh climate here in South Australia.

Was just watching the latest Letsknit2gether Vidcast and Kat was showing her UnFinished Objects.

Well my oldest is from 1995? ( just before kids)
It's a mohair jumper I've finished the back and about a 1/5 of the front.

It's a good quality Mohair.. I don't think I'll every wear this jumper if I ever finished it.

So what to do with the Mohair? It was from the Bendigo Woollen mills.

Any suggestions?
