After working out we couldn't afford the extension we wanted.
And then deciding I didn't want to return to paid work and that meaning we couldn't afford to buy a larger home either.
We went with option number 3
Enclosing the back verandah and moving the laundry out there so we could enlarge the dining area into the old laundry.
We had to remove the rock roses from the garden.
Rose cried it was her favourite bush.
Our home is 100 years old this year.
