Headband - Crochet Pattern

I'm using Australian Terms
Australin Trebles = American DC!
Australian DC = American SC

Worked with 8 ply wool on a 5mm crochet hook

Measure the child's head around 19 inches in a toddler

Chain a multiple of 4 plus 2 stitches to that measurement when stretched.
Join into a ring without twisting

Rnd 1 Chain 2 in first chain, work a treble in each chain around, join with a slip stitch to the top chain stitch.
Rnd 2 chain 2, work a front post treble then a back post treble all the way round. join with ss to the top chain.
Rnd 3 DC in joining SS, miss stitch, work 4 trebles in next stitch, (miss stitch, DC. miss stitch, 4 trebles into next stitch) repeat to end join with slip stitch and finish.
Rnd 4 Worked in base chain. Rejoin yarn at the beginning. Repeat (DC, miss stitch, 4 trebles, miss stitch) to end finish off.

Weave in ends.

To pretty it up add a crochet flower.

Flower

Make a circle with the yarn around your fingers and crochet into that.

DC, half treble, treble, double treble, treble, half treble, DC repeat 5 times for five petals. Omit last DC of last petal and join with a slip stitch and finish off.

Pull center tail tight to close center.

Use ends to stitch flower to band.

Make as many flowers as you want and sew them to the head band.
