Introducing.... Baby Michael

Born at 2pm on Wednesday the 19th Of December.
Weighing 8lbs 4ozs after a speedy 4 hour labour.

40 weeks and 4 days!

I finished the Sunday Market Shawl last night. Pattern Here 60 inches of stocking stitch! A good put your feet up and relax project, mindless knitting!

Toohey my constant companion had to get herself in the shot. She's been following me everywhere of late. Even tries to get into the car and come with us. She's also taken to sleeping on the floor on my side of the bed. I think she's worried she will miss out on the action. She is a beautiful dog, we are very lucky to have her. She's getting old and is starting to feel her age of late.

Newborn Nappies - Modern Cloth

They are so cute!




and these little xmas sets have come from Deb at Waggle Wee Kids in Tennant Creek! Peter picked them up on his last trip up. now we just need Dragon to arrive before xmas day so he can wear his little outfits.

Apricots are ripening

The apricots are ripening! and even though they don't look the best they are still very tasty! May have to make some jam tomorrow if I'm not busy doing something else!

Wirrabarra Markets

We had a nice morning out at the Wirrabarra Producers markets. I got some Goats Milk Soap and a fleece for spinning. Now i need to learn to spin! And we bought four more hens. Little bantams.

We bought some yummy home made biscuits and ate them in the playground.

Well still no baby.... so I'm off to bed. Will have to plan tomorrows (todays it's after midnight!) list of projects first!

One Skein Crochet Scarfs

I'm in love with this pattern. QUICK QUICK QUICK ... 3 hours!!
I used some Spotlight acrylic for the Lavender scarf and some Bendigo Classic Wool which I hand dyed for the second scarf. I rarely make 2 of anything but I so love this pattern I might make a third!

Still no sign of Little Dragon.... so will have to go find another project to keep me busy.

Multi-directional Diagonal Scarf

Knitted in Noro Silk Garden on 6mm needles this was a very quick knit. I cast on last night about dinner time and it was finished this evening before dinner. Now what next....

I don't mind bub being late if I can be this productive.

Bub has a nickname now ... Little Drag.on.... because he's dragging on!

Nursing pads

Bored and waiting for bub. So I had to find a quick project which would give me that high of a completed project. I found the patterns for these on Ravelry.

More socks

Nice and quick to knit up. In 8ply wool I handdyed from Bendigo Woolen Mills.



These are still in progress. In 4ply hot socks from Lincraft. on 2.25 dpns. The pattern is a basic sock pattern which was on the band of a ball of yarn.

FEELIN' GROOVY

I love Enid Gilchrist magazines. I have a few now. I find them in op-shops and on Ebay. Some I paid way too much for! but just had to have. They are fabulous for quick easy clothing. Great for design inspirations. I love to see how the lines change over the many years her pattern books were published. They were published by New Idea here in Australia. I remember my mum making me a pinafore out of one in the late seventies.



I was restless again this morning. Feels like baby is late already but no, still 9 days until the due date! While flicking through my magazines I found the perfect project for that very groovy terry toweling I picked up at the op-shop a while back. So here's the result a toweling poncho.

When the original was published overlockers weren't in homes. I changed the sewing instructions to overlocking and was going to finish the neckline with elastic until I came across a lone drawstring in my stash of bits and pieces.

Fresh from the Garden this morning!

All this in one day! How we going to keep up! Zucchini for dinner tonight!

Sewing up a storm!!

Jungle T-shirt and shorts sets. And two pairs of Dolphin shorts no t's with these. These are for a wonderful lady who has swapped me a huge pile of nappies for the baby.



Two sets of shark shorts and t-shirts. A bit scary really! And the sheepy boxer shorts are for Liam.. he wants a shirt to match now! "Mum I need a shirt too!"



The teddy bear outfit a mixed matched. A case of not checking the amount of fabric befor you cut. The T is a size 2 but the shorts are only 00 because that was all I could get out of the fabric! Ooops, the fabric only cost me 50c from the op-shop :D The shorts are for Mr K.



Swing top and bloomers for Miss M, from Op-shop fabric. And the Little 00 set is also for the lady who swapped me some nappies for baby Michael.

Another marathon of sewing this week :)
