Happy 9th Birthday Liam and another yarn

 Happy Birthday to Liam.

It's become a tradition here for the birthday child to decorate their own cake.

We get very interesting masterpieces.

No cake for mummy as I had a weigh in the next morning.

 

I made a sock weight yarn this time.

spun from a ply of  EL X Merino and a ply of Coopworth.

Both fleeces I bought from Jane at Moseley Park.

A pair of socks for me.

The advantage of all this spinning is it is not possible to put food

in my mouth while using my hands to spin!

I had a great Weigh In on Thursday and lost 1.2kg

Putting me in the healthy weight range with a BMI of 25!

And under 70kgs!

And a total loss of over  20kgs.
To celebrate I went clothes shopping and bought myself a gorgeous new dress.

Only 4.7kgs to go to goal.

Because I've been such a good girl..

and menu planned last fortnight and saved $300! I treated myself to a little trip to the LYS and somehow these ended up coming home with me:

I'm thinking scarves for my sisters for xmas?

I'm knitting up a large pair of Longies for Michael.
They will be 60cm in the hips, I'm putting them aside for him to grow into.
I'm loving this wool!
It's the wool I got from Susanne's House Of Wool Soaker Club.

I've also been playing with the blog and worked out how to put my Ravelry WIP's with progress bars onto my blog. It wasn't very hard to do in the end. You just need to find the code on Ravelry and post it in a html gadget on the sidebar!

Laura Folk Fair

We had a lovely time a the folk Fair in Laura. The kids got Fairy Floss and doughnuts, we wandered around the stalls, listened to some recorder/flute music and had a ride in a horse drawn cart.
I found some handspun wool & alpaca yarn. I think I'll knit a special pair of soakers for Miss Lilly. The wool is grown locally too.
