There's nothing like...

  •  Eating juicy ripe raspberries straight from the canes.

  •  Spending time with good friends.

  •  Sewing clothes for those you love.

Fabric was shibori dyed by me many years ago.
Pattern was drafted by me.
Doilies purchased from the op-shop
Crochet butterflies off an ebay buy many years ago.

I hope your day was filled with as much joy as mine.

The Oops Skirt

It's an Oops skirt because I was making this for Fern.
I drafted out a quarter circle skirt pattern piece.
Then started cutting.
Oops only could cut 3 quarters!

The fabric was from the opshop and wasn't a full width.
I did manage to piece together a waistband.

Lilly is very happy with her new skirt.
Lilly has lost her first two teeth, just in time for Christmas.
I'm singing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth"
Fern is less than impressed that Lilly got the skirt.

The lace and doilies were also op-shop finds.
We have some great op-shops around here.

I couldn't resist!

Uninvited and unwanted visitors

I thought we had rain hitting the roof of the shed.
No, just grasshoppers!
The locust bands have hit us.
They are all over town.

Covering the front of my car and windscreen.
A couple hit me in the face, they hurt!
Pete and James couldn't go for their bike ride yesterday.
They kept getting hit by the hoppers.

Devouring everything green.
At least they shouldn't trouble anything left of the crops, after the flooding rains we had last week.
They prefer to eat nice green plants, like our grass and veggies.
Years of drought and finally it looked like a good year.
Only to be hit with mice, masses of rain and locust.
