Tennant is one of those towns where your friends become your family. Everyone knows you and even if they don't like you, they put up with you, because you live there. Like a big extended family. It's the sort of place that if a family is in crisis the town will pitch in to help.
It's the place I met Peter, got married and birthed 5 of my 6 babies. It's a town that will always hold a special place in my heart as do the people.
The blog over the years has been my creative outlet. The place I record what I make and how I make it. The place I come to escape the madness of a home with 6 kids, escape my sorrows and grief, share my joys and happiness.
Through the blog I have made many friends across the world. I love reading other peoples blogs. They give me a glimpse into others lives and inspire me to create.
To all my blog friends I say, "Thank you for visiting, reading and posting comments and putting up with my bad grammar, punctuation and poor spelling."
The Give Away
Leave a comment on this post telling me about what blogging means to you. You have until Tuesday the 27th of January. I'll put all the names into the hat and have one of the kids draw the lucky winner.
The prize you ask? Well it's a mystery but it will be handmade by me :D

Congrats on reaching 500 posts Tracy, your blog always has fabulous crafty ideas.
Blogging gives me an outlet, a place to share with friends and a place where I can look back and reminisce over the months and years.....the birth of a child, the first day at school, my sewing projects....
XOX Hayley.
I think this just proves you have something interesting say hey!!
You've done great things and will always have a place to look back on them!!
Blogging to me . . its a way for me to have my own little piece of the giant world wide web . .
Blogging, to me, means a way to record the things that make me happy.
(You may note that there is not much about my children & partner on this blog! Well, I do have another one on another site where I talk about them more. They DO make me happy.)
Congrats on 500 posts!
Hi Tracy,
Congratulations on reaching 500 posts; what a milestone!
I love blogging because it is a neverending supply of inspiration and encouragement. A constant contact with like minded people, and a fantastic way to meet wonderful people all over the world. Not to mention the fun swaps and giveaways!! So much more fun in the mailbag these days!!
Hi Tracy :) Long time no chat! I couldn't pass up such a great opportunity though :P Blogging, for me, is sharing in a little bit of someone elses life, and having them share a little of yours. A virtual coffee with friends, so to speak. And a pretty cool place to show off your kids and creative pursuits, of course!
Love reading your blog Tracy. Wow - 500 posts!!
Blogging to me is a way of keeping track of what I do and how much I have learnt (especially with sewing). It is also a way of sharing with my family and friends.
Cheers, Liz
Congratulations on getting to 500!!! I'm hoping to reach 100 this year. LOL Your blog is fabulous and I look forward to 500 more posts!
Oops, I meant to also say that blogging is way for me to record what I do. Otherwise, I'd just keep moving on to the next thing with no tangible record of my creations since many things I make leave my hands to go to other homes.
Oh wow, 500 posts! Congrats Tracy :)
Blogging started off for me as a way to record things like an online journal, then a way of expressing myself, then a way of connecting with people, now I think it has evolved to be a way I keep in touch with my online friends and also a way to spread the word about things that are important to me...if that makes sense? Probably not, its very late and my eyes are getting blurry LOL
Congrats on the 500th post !!!!
Blogging for me is a way to keep a note of things I have made but I love how it means things can be shared ... Which means more things to try & craft !
Now to make sure I update more !!!!
congrats on 500 posts........I started blogging to see and share my sewing projects.....but it has opened up the world to me like I would not have imagined and I have many new friends that I would never have met if not for the blog.......
Congrats on 500 posts Tracy. Blogging to me is a chance to keep up with friends either new or old, find useful information and ideas to feed my creative desires and read read read :)
I am only a baby when it comes to blogging - but addictive it really is. Sadly my family is not one that adore handmade (brand name etc is more on their mind) - so not sure how I fit into the puzzle of my family. By having a blog it's my way of sharing my creations to people that actually appreciate handmade items.
Congratulations!! I love blogging because you get to meet lots of cool people and also share my passion for crafty things. I also love it as my family is spread all around the country so it is a great way to keep them up to date on what we're all doing. hugs, Kat xxx
Congratulations on 500 (plus) posts. I can't imagine ever reaching this number. Blogging to me is a way of connecting to people who I share common interests with and also about learning from others. Best wishes,
tracy
Congratulations Tracy!! I love your blog and loved what you had to say about your home in Tennant Creek. I feel the same about our new home here in Tassie :) To me blogging is a way to share and connect with other like minded people. It helps me feel not so alone when I'm home all day with three little tackers!
Congratulations on 500 posts. I love blogging as it gives me a place to show off my creations and maybe receive a few compliments.
Congrats on the 500th post Tracy!
As a new blogger, I'm not quite sure I've figured it out yet. Really it's just a place to record my thoughts, feelings and crafting efforts :-)
Congratulations Tracy! Blogging to me is putting my thoughts into a logical format; my posts will never be as creative as yours, though. ;)
Congrats on 500 posts!
Like you, I started the blog to keep in touch with faraway friends, and document my crafty stuff...
It's also like how it's become a record of our days as a family! I imagine it will be nice to look back on days gone by in years to come!
Congratulations Tracy, I feel honored to have stumbled across your little patch of the world. May you have many, many more blogging years to come. HUGS ...
Since I moved to Tennant Creek district not long before you moved away, you will know how much I appreciate creative bloggers such as yourself to provide inspiration, tips and skills to those of us who live in the middle of nowhere!! I wish I had met you before you left, however, I do know Greenfingers who is a great inspiration too!!
I started my blog one year ago (just had my blogsversary giveaway...) and it become a bit like a motor for me, something to push me forward and keep me making new things. Everytime I feel blue or lazy I think "what will blog about?! Better do something!" It has been really good for me.
I hope your blog keep give you a lot of happy moments and good friends all around the world.
