Learning to Play

Michael is playing with the mirror on his rocker! He just discovered it and has spent ages smiling and pulling faces in the mirror. He's gurgling and kicking his legs and waving his arms. I got the camera and took a photo. And I'm sitting here just watching him.

Yep... I'm crying

Bribes for Peter

I've just finished these as a gift for Peter. I made up the pattern for the gloves. The pattern for the beanie comes from here I modified it a little.

Peter's been away for over 2 weeks now. The kids and I are really missing him. I really appreciate how much Peter does around the house and with the kids.

The kids and I have been busy organising and cleaning their room. I decided to remove their clothes drawers from their bedroom into the spare room. Most of the mess in their bedroom is due to the clothes being flung around.

I'm turning the spare room into a giant wardrobe. I will set up the ironing board in there and hopefully that means I'll iron more.

So far we have:
- cleared the kids room of junk, toys and chest of drawers
- Moved the chests of drawers into the spare room.
- Moved the computers out of the spare room into the kids bedroom.
- re-arranged the bunk beds in the bedroom.

The next step is the spare room and organising the clothes. This is going to be a huge job. I might wait for Peter to get home so he can help. I will bribe him with the hat and gloves.

Getting a life...

We moved to our new home almost 2 years ago now. I haven't made much of an effort to make new friends and get involved in groups. I've been spending too much time online in forums and on MSN Messenger.

Today I went to Playgroup. I had a great time and met a few other mums. Lilly loved it and made new friends. It was well worth the effort. Michael slept in his sling the whole two hours.

There are a lot of groups here. There's a branch of the CWA which runs a craft and chat group, a quilting group, kindergym, a weight loss group and lots of sporting groups.

Time to exercise some discipline and cut back on my internet addiction. Time to get into the "real" world and be brave. Meet new people and make new friends.

Spider!

Why do spiders take up residence when your husband is away?

This "little" spider was 7 inches across! He's a Huntsman, they aren't dangerous just look fierce. But I didn't want him in my house. He was on the lounge room wall. We have 12 foot ceilings and Mr Huntsman was about 10ft up the wall, too high for me to catch and put out. I wasn't going to leave him there to wander around the house. I wouldn't know where he was and would be nervous for days. So as much as I dislike killing these harmless creatures he did get sprayed with the insecticide.
