Desert Rose Designs Crochet Soaker

I designed this pattern to fit my child.And have tested it on her.

dc = double crochet
tr - treble
ch = chain
ss = slip stitch
100 gms of 8 ply wool with a tension of 22st/ 10cms, crochet hook 3.5 mm
Start by making the waist band:
Front
Ribbing
                    chain 11
Row 1         skip first ch, dc into each chain to end 1 ch turn (10 stitches)
Rwo 2         1 dc into back loop of dc to end 1 ch turn
                    Repeat Row 2 until 34 rows are worked
Turn for body
Row 1,        1 ch and dc across a long edge, 1 dc per row (34), 3ch turn
Row 2,         miss first stitch ( as the turning chains count for this stitch) and treble to end, 3ch turn, (34 stitches)
Row 3 to Row 10         same as row 2 ( on row 10 don’t work the 3 ch turn)
Shaping the leg holes
Row 11         slip stitch acoss the first 6 tr,. 3 chains ( count as 1 tr) miss first tr and work 23 tr ( 24 stitches altogether when you add the 3chs) leave the last 5 stitchses unworked. ch 2 Turn
Row 12         Work 2 tr together, tr to last two, tr two together. 2 ch turn (22)
Row 13         Work 2 tr together, tr to last two, tr two together, 2 ch turn (20)
Row 14         Work 2 tr together, tr to last two, tr two together, 2 ch turn (18)
Row 15         Work 2 tr together, tr to last two, tr two together, 2 ch turn (16)
Row 16         Work 2 tr together, tr to last two, tr two together, 2 ch turn (14)
Row 17         Work 2 tr together, tr to last two, tr two together, 3 ch turn (12)
Row 18         tr to end, 3 ch turn (12)
Row 19         tr to end, finish off
Back
Ribbing
chain 11
Row 1         skip first chain, dc into each chain to end 1 chain turn (10 stitches)

               Repeat Row 2 until 34 rows are worked
                Turn for body
Row 1         1 ch and dc across a long edge, 1 dc per row (34), 3ch turn
Row 2         miss first stitch, 11 tr, 2 tr into each of the next 3 stitchs, 4 tr, 2 tr into each of the next 3 stitches, 12 tr (40)
Row 3 to Row 10         miss first stitch ( as the turning chains count for this stitch) and tr to end, 3ch turn (40) (on row 10 work a 2 ch turn)
Shaping leg holes
Row 11         work two tr together, tr to last two stitches, tr two together. (38)
Row 12         work two tr together, tr to last two stitches, tr two together (36)
Contine reducing like this for 8 more row.
Row 21         Work two tr together, three times, tr 8, work two tr together three times. (14)
Row 22         work two tr together, tr to last 2, work two tr together, finish off.
Sew up sides and crotch.
Finish leg holes
Row 1         dc around leg opening, work a multiple of 5 stitches, this is needed for the shell pattern
Row 2         Shell stitch around. to shell *ss in first stitch miss a stitch, work 5 tr into next stitch, miss a stitch, repeat from *
Finish off
Sew in all loose ends.
******************     The crotch is not very wide in this version. To widen the crotch add a few more rows of dc around the legs prior to working the shells     *****************************

You are certainly keeping yourself busy. I like those knitted baby pants-I don't think I could get my kids into them though, too big!
Lucky I know this child or I would have to say shes a show off instead of the natural little star she is.
